Flagstaff builds on the decades of experience from its principal & affiliated specialists.  Together, the team has helped built robust & widely deployed products in the fields of generation, structures, storage, and IoT solutions globally at both residential & small commercial scales.  We have overseen the deployment of over 7,500 systems encompassing various technologies and are widely versed in market requirements, regulations, and the supply chains necessary to help bring competitive solutions to market.  The team at Flagstaff has run individual products turnkey from requirements (PRD) to market introduction (NPI) as well as infilled on larger projects with expertise in areas including reliability testing, strategic sourcing, and DFx.  We work with our clients when they need to surge into a market by applying our decades of product & market knowledge to avoid common missteps.

Josh Plaisted
Principal

Josh has over 20 years of experience in the distributed energy sector since having received his MSME from the University of Wisconsin Solar Energy Laboratory.  He was the principal investigator for the US DoE in commercializing hybrid PV/Thermal systems for zero energy homes leading to the deployment of over 2,500 systems with some of the nations largest homebuilders in over a dozen states.

Later in his career, Josh led the R&D activities for SunEdison’s Residential & Small Commercial division managing a team of 40+ engineers globally in the fields of power electronics, mounting structures, and controls and monitoring systems feeding SunEdison's global NOC (Network Operating Center).

Before founding Flagstaff Research, Josh served as VP Product Development for residential solar at Flextronics (NYSE: FLEX), one of the worlds largest contract manufacturers with over 240,000 employees.
